The Adolfsen Group is privately owned by the two brothers Kristian and Roger Adolfsen, and is the name of a group of companies in which the two brothers, personally and through various investment companies, have significant ownership.
With a pioneering spirit they start up new companies and invest in others which they believe have a large growth potential. Since starting their first limited partnership company from scratch in 1987, they have founded and invested in many successful companies,
primarily in these sectors:
- Hotels & Resorts
- Health Care
- Real Estate
- Cruise Services
- Manning
- Pre-Schools
Each of these business areas has its own Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The Adolfsen Brothers concentrate on identifying new business opportunities and creating value through active ownership of the existing portfolio.
The companies where The Adolfsen Group has significant ownership employ some 6,000 employees in 6 countries and has total revenues of about NOK 2,5 billion.
The Adolfsen Brothers noted the similarities of running patient hotels and nursing homes and of running hotels. By combining these two businesses with medical care service, they created an excellent concept, and launched the new company Norlandia Care AS in 1997.
In 2011, several companies merged into one, Norlandia Care Group AS, wich now contains both health care and child care.
The companies within The Adolfsen Group grow through operational improvement, organic growth and acquisitions.
In addition to the five business areas listed above, the Adolfsen Brothers also have many venture investments and investments in other companies.
What started as a small ripple in the Norwegian hotel market has grown into a big wave, engulfing new markets both geographical and contextual.
